The monsoon arrives in Pokhara in June, but Upper Mustang and Dolpo lie in the rain shadow and stay largely dry. Treks to Lo Manthang and Phoksundo continue, and Dolpo's high pastures fill with herders and yaks. The trouble is getting there: Pokhara–Jomsom and Nepalgunj–Juphal flights are cancelled more often, and the Beni road starts to suffer landslides. Build in spare days at both ends.
