Eastern Nepal in July
Peak monsoon. Rain falls most days, often heavily, and mist sits on the ridges. Tea gardens are at their greenest and monsoon flush leaf is picked, but views are rare and travel is slow. Landslides are common on the Mechi and Koshi highways. We do not plan treks this month, and suggest short tea-country stays only for travellers who enjoy rain.
Local tip for July
Carry leech socks and a good rain jacket even for short walks.
