Chitwan & the Terai in July
The wettest stretch of the year. Most of the annual 2,500 mm of rain falls between mid-June and September, and the Narayani, Rapti and Koshi run high and brown. Park access is limited and floods can close roads. We do not recommend Chitwan or Koshi Tappu now; Janakpur's temples stay open for pilgrims. Janakpur and Devghat stay open for pilgrims, and the green paddy fields are at their most vivid, but road travel is slow.
