Wildlife sightings stay good around water, and tiger chances are as good as they get because animals keep to the few remaining pools. Fewer travellers mean quieter lodges and easier bookings. Janakpur and Koshi Tappu are very hot by midday; go early and keep to the shade. Koshi Tappu is still good for birds early in the month, though most winter migrants have left by April.
