Kathmandu Valley in March
One of the best months to walk the cities: long dry days, rhododendrons on the rim hills and comfortable evenings. Holi, the colour festival, falls in March in most years and is lively in Kathmandu's Basantapur. Ghode Jatra, the horse festival at Tundikhel, falls in March or April. Afternoon haze is common, but mornings at Nagarkot and Dhulikhel can still show the peaks.
